About Us
Faes AR app was created by the ARaura team and is our first effort in delving into the development of augmented reality solutions for niche market enthusiasts.
In the spring of 2020, ARaura was founded on an idea: If our avatars can look epic in video games, why can't we enhance our own appearances in the same way using augmented reality? We too could wear skins! This initial idea was the spark that launched our exploration into AR technology.
As we delved deeper into the tech and mapping out our ideas, it became evident that individual preferences in digital expression vary widely. To accommodate this diversity, we recognized the necessity of providing a toolkit that empowers users to customize their AR outfits and their digital self-expression according to their unique desires and needs.

​As role playing gamers and sci-fi readers, we decided to start our journey by developing this solution for the TTRPG community as it felt like home to us. The idea of being able to visually be unique characters within scenes from the game setting felt exciting and we dove head first into this journey. Faes AR is the result.
Our Mission
Faes AR is here to serve the TTRPG community by tackling the last piece of the online gameplay set up - the video feed. While online sessions are truly amazing with all the available tools to increase fun and immersion, some of the magic of role playing gets lost with the video feed. Video chats can be stressful, invasive, too personal and they feel mundane, like work. We are here to make them epic and fun by giving everyone tools to visually be your unique characters and NPCs from the game environment.
This fall of 2024, we conducted interviews and surveys with 75 GMs and 25 players. Here is something we gleaned from you: the magic of playing characters in TTRPGs comes from the human connections we make while role-playing in a fantasy realm that is free of the day to day struggles of life. It is part escape, part personal growth and part entertainment. According to you, roleplaying has an increasingly important function within our current, stressful world. Faes AR is dedicated to helping advance the visual aspect of our online sessions to catch up our video feed with the rest of our tools. Show your characters!
Meet The Team
The Araura co-founders are hard core gamers, sci-fi readers and digital industry professionals. We are a mix of sales and leadership in Mike Webber, software development and product ownership in Connor Harty. We came together over a shared desire to make the spatial internet epic.
A media executive and entrepreneur with 20+ years of experience in building businesses and selling to big brands and agencies. Webber was previously a Business Lead at Snapchat, running large cross-functional teams driving sales from fortune 500 companies. Prior to Snapchat, Webber was the main songwriter and lead singer of Montreal based post punk band the Snitches producing 4 albums and signing with Interscope at Universal Music.
Connor has over 20 years of experience in fullstack development, team management, and product ownership. Connor leads the tech development of Faes AR, development partnerships, and implementation of our patented rules engine.
