Version 1.0, October 21, 2026
Effective date: October 21, 2026
ARaura Augmented Reality Fashion Corp ("ARaura," "we," "us"), a corporation registered in Quebec, Canada, makes Faes AR. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we receive, why, where it is kept, and your rights. Personal information means information about a person who can be identified.
Faes AR is desktop software that places digital costumes, masks, effects, and backgrounds onto your live webcam feed and makes the result available to other programs through a virtual camera.
Faes AR is not a video service. We do not receive, host, or record your video.
This policy forms part of the Faes AR End User Licence Agreement ("EULA"). Capitalised terms, such as "Software," "Application," "Virtual Camera Driver," "Account," "Cloud Services," "Ownership Checking," and "Your Uploads," have the meanings given in the EULA.
The Faes AR Biometric Notice describes how the Application tracks the person in front of the camera. You accept it by its own checkbox. Where this policy and the Biometric Notice both address tracking data, the Biometric Notice governs.
This policy does not cover our websites, which have their own privacy notices.
This is a summary. The sections that follow govern.
We do not receive your video.
We do not receive Your Uploads. We cannot recover them for you.
Your presets and preferences stay on your computer.
Tracking happens on your computer. We never receive tracking data. See the Biometric Notice.
Your Account holds your username, your email address, a record of the assets you are entitled to, and a record that you accepted the Biometric Notice.
When you sign in or download an asset, we record it so we can confirm your entitlements and count the computers that use your Account.
The Application does not send us crash reports. If you have a problem, you choose what to tell us.
We do not receive the information in this section. We do not store it and cannot reach it.
3.1 Tracking data
The Application uses MediaPipe, open-source software published by Google, to track the face, hands, and body of the person in front of the camera. The result is "tracking data": a set of numbers that describes positions and shapes in a single video frame. Tracking data is held only in your computer's working memory (RAM) while the camera feed runs. It is not saved, not sent, and not used to identify anyone. The Biometric Notice describes it in full.
3.2 Your Uploads
Your Uploads stay on your computer. The Software does not send them to us. We keep no copy and cannot recover them. You are responsible for your own backups.
3.3 Presets and preferences
Your presets and your layout and interface preferences are saved on your computer only. We keep no copy and cannot restore them.
4.1 Account details
When you create an Account, we receive your username, your email address, and your password. We use them to sign you in, to secure your Account, and to contact you about your Account and the Software.
You enter your date of birth when you create an Account. We use it only to confirm you have reached the age of majority where you live. We do not store it.
4.2 Ownership records
We keep a record of the assets your Account is entitled to use, whether purchased or included with your version of the Software. When you buy through an online store, the store tells us what you bought so we can add it to this record. The store processes your payment. We do not receive your full payment card number. Ownership Checking uses this record to confirm your entitlements.
4.3 Sign-in, download, and install records
Each time the Application signs you in, including automatically when it starts, and each time you download an asset, we record it against your Account. Each record includes the date and time, the type of event, the version of the Application, and an install code.
The install code is a random code the Application creates and stores on your computer the first time you use it. The code is not based on your computer’s characteristics. We use install codes to count the installs that use your Account. Section 3 of the EULA explains that sign-ins or downloads from an unusual number of computers may be treated as distribution of the Software.
We keep each record for 90 days after we receive it, so that records remain available if we send you a notice under Section 11 of the EULA. We then delete it.
Server logs. Our servers keep logs of the requests they receive. These logs include the IP address the request came from. An IP address is the number your internet connection uses to reach other computers. We do not link these logs to your Account. We use them to keep our servers running and secure. We delete them after 90 days.
4.4 Acceptance records
We keep a record each time you accept this policy, the EULA, the Biometric Notice, or the other documents that form part of the EULA. The record shows your Account, the document and version you accepted, and the date and time. Biometric Notice acceptance records contain no tracking data.
4.5 Support messages
The Application does not send crash reports or usage data to us. If you have a problem, you may write to support@faes.ar. We receive your message, your email address, and anything you choose to attach. We use them to answer you.
We use the information described in Section 4 to:
provide the Software, Cloud Services, and your Account;
secure your Account and run Ownership Checking;
count the computers that use your Account, as Section 3 of the EULA describes;
handle purchases and refunds;
answer problems you report to us; and
send you notices about your Account, the Software, updates, and changes to the EULA or this policy.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information where the law requires it, such as in response to a court order.
Marketing email. We send you marketing email only if you agree to receive it. You can agree by ticking a box when you create your Account. The box is unticked unless you tick it. Every marketing email includes a link to unsubscribe. You can also withdraw your consent at any time by writing to support@faes.ar. Notices about your Account, the Software, and changes to the EULA or this policy are not marketing email. We send them whether or not you agree to marketing email.
6.1 Hosting
We store Account information with a third-party cloud hosting provider, on servers located in Quebec. It is encrypted while stored and while being sent.
Some service providers we use may store or process personal information outside Quebec, such as our email provider when you write to support@faes.ar. Before any personal information is transferred outside Quebec, we assess the protection it will receive and take steps to keep it protected.
6.2 Installers and launchers
You may install the Application with ARaura’s installer, or through a launcher or store provided by a third party. Where you use a third party’s launcher or store, its terms and privacy policy govern your use of it. We do not control it.
6.3 Online stores
The store where you bought the Software handles your payment under its own privacy policy. At the date of this policy, ARaura sells through Xsolla and Gumroad.
6.4 Virtual Camera Driver
The Virtual Camera Driver is a system-level device that lets other programs use the Application's output as if it were a webcam. It does not send anything to us and does not connect to any server. Instructions for removing it are at www.faes.ar/download.
6.5 Other programs
When you send the Application's output to another program, such as Discord, Zoom, or OBS, that program handles the video under its own terms. We receive nothing from it.
6.6 The Unity engine
The Software is built with the Unity engine, which is controlled by a third party. We configure our builds to restrict third-party data collection. If you observe unexpected network activity from the Software, notify us at support@faes.ar.
You must have reached the age of majority where you live to create an Account. We ask for your date of birth when you create an Account to confirm this.
An account holder may allow their child, or a minor for whom they are the legal guardian, to use their copy of the Software if that person is 14 or older. The account holder accepts the EULA and the Biometric Notice on their behalf and is responsible for their use. No one under 14 may use the Software.
We do not create Accounts for minors. If we learn that we have received personal information directly from a minor, we will delete it.
Account details and ownership records: while your Account is open, then deleted within 90 days after you delete it.
Acceptance records: while your Account is open, then for 5 years after you delete it, as proof of consent.
Purchase records: for at least 6 years, as tax law requires.
Sign-in, download, and install records: 90 days after we receive them.
Server logs: 90 days.
Support messages: for 2 years after your last message.
Record of Account deletion: for 5 years. It shows when your Account was deleted and what we kept. It includes a scrambled code made from your email address, so we can recognise it if you contact us again. It does not include the address itself.
Tracking data, Your Uploads, presets, and preferences: not applicable. They stay on your computer and we never receive them.
You can:
ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to correct it; and
delete your Account.
To make any of these requests, email support@faes.ar from the email address on your Account. If you write from another address, we may ask you to confirm you own the Account before we act. We respond within 30 days.
Deleting your Account is permanent. The Application asks you to sign in from time to time, as Section 7 of the EULA describes. After your Account is deleted, you cannot sign in. The Application may not start, and you lose access to the assets you purchased or received. You cannot download them again.
Deletion is completed within 90 days of your request. We email you when it is done. Section 8 lists the records we keep after deletion and for how long.
Deleting your Account does not remove files on your computer, including Your Uploads and presets. We cannot reach them.
10.1 Quebec
Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, applies to us. You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw a consent you have given. You may also ask us to give you the computerised personal information you provided, in a structured and commonly used format.
Our person responsible for the protection of personal information is Connor Harty. You can reach them at support@faes.ar.
Where the law allows, you may ask us to stop disseminating your personal information or to de-index a link to it. We do not publish your personal information, so in practice there is usually nothing to remove.
10.2 European Economic Area and United Kingdom
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include the rights to access, correct, delete, and port your information, and to object to certain processing. You may complain to your local supervisory authority.
10.3 Elsewhere in Canada
Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA) may also apply to information handled outside Quebec.
10.4 Other places
If you live somewhere with its own privacy law, such as California, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what we hold and to ask us to delete it. Contact us at support@faes.ar and we will honour the rights that apply to you.
11.1 Security measures
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption and limits on who can access it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot promise absolute security.
11.2 Confidentiality incidents
A confidentiality incident means unauthorised access to, use of, or loss of personal information. If one presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the people affected, as Law 25 requires. We keep a record of confidentiality incidents.
Changes to this policy follow Section 13 of the EULA, including at least 30 days' notice by email and in the Application. A change to how the Application processes tracking data also requires you to accept an updated Biometric Notice, as Section 9 of that notice describes.
